Duval takes win in Okayama

Loic Duval took his first chequered flag of the 2008 championship in front of 14,000 cheering spectators on Sunday 8th June during the fourth round of the Formula Nippon series at the Okayama International Circuit.    

Duval started from fifth on the grid, but after pitting midway through the 68 lap race he went on to dominate finishing with a time of 1:32.24.751. Current point’s leader Tsugio Matsuda looked likely to win from the start after taking his fourth pole position of the year but was forced to retire with a mechanical issue on lap 49.  

Duval’s last Formula Nippon win came in September 2006 during Round 7 of the championship at Sportsland SUGO.
