Nelson Piquet Jr has finished the final test of the 2005 GP2 series at the top of the timesheets. The Brazilian set his fastest lap of 1:15.799 on the first day of the test, to beat Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi's best efforts. On the second day, Lewis Hamilton went quickest, but nobody could get close to Nelson's time from the first day as heavy rain hit Circuit Paul Ricard, eventually calling an early halt to proceedings as thick fog drew in around the track. The GP2 series now retires for the winter in preparation for our first 26-car test in early 2006.
