GP2 News - Minardi Announces 2007 Line Up
01/11/2006
Team Minardi by Piquet Sports has become the first team to name its 2007 GP2 driver line-up. The team will run Brazilian Xandi Negrao (above), who returns for his third year in the Bridgestone-shod championship, and Spaniard Roldan Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, 21, will be new to the series in '07, but he has previous experience of a GP2 car, having contested both the pre and post-season GP2 tests in 2006.

All of his testing has been carried out with Campos Racing, his Spanish Formula 3 team from '06, and he will continue to test for them at next week's Paul Ricard test. He will then join Team Minardi by Piquet Sports for the Jerez test in the second week in November.

Piquet Sports merged with EuroSeries 3000 outfit Team Minardi a month ago, when it became clear that Nelson Piquet - around whom the team was originally set up - would be graduating to Formula 1 with Renault in 2007.
