GP2 News - Carroll Gears Up For 2008

The final round of the Bridgestone-shod GP2 Championship takes place at Valencia this weekend, but despite the championship outcome going down to the wire at the last race, many of the teams are already making plans for next season.
With the 2008 cars not available to test until the New Year, the teams will need to make their driver choices beforehand and they are heading to Jerez next week to assess the available talent.
One driver with a busy few days ahead of him is Adam Carroll, who has been booked to test for iSport and Minardi Piquet Sports.
“Adam ticks all the boxes,” says iSport boss Paul Jackson. “He’s a proven race winner, he has plenty of experience and if the commercial side comes together, he’s the ideal candidate.”
For Carroll, 2008 would be his fourth season in GP2, but he doesn’t see that as a problem.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing a fourth year,” says the Ulsterman. “If you can put the right deal together and you’re competitive, then outside F1 there’s no better place to be.”
Timo Glock, who leads the GP2 Series going into the last race, isn’t expected to test at Jerez next week. The German hopes to find a race seat in Formula 1 next season.
