Welcome To Bridgestone Technology.

Bridgestone has been at the fore-front of innovation and development in motor sport since making its racing debut at the first Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka in 1963. Now you can discover how our technology and techniques make championship winning tyres.

Through Bridgestone’s passionate quest for victory and search for technological innovation, motor racing has made a substantial contribution to the technical excellence and ambitious spirit that is at the heart of the company’s success. Through motor racing, Bridgestone is proud to have played a part in bringing excitement to many around the world. Bridgestone made its first motorsport appearance in 1963 using standard road car tyres with a compound more suited to high speed single-seater and sports-racing cars. Now, 45 years later the company is the sole tyre supplier in all of the world’s foremost single-seater motorsport categories, including Formula One, Indy Car, Formula Nippon and the GP2 Series and also has an increased presence in MotoGP, Super GT and Karting. The machines utilised in each of these series are all technical masterpieces, with huge amounts of time and effort being spent developing aerodynamics, constructions and set-ups. However, when it comes to competing, the tyres are still one of the biggest single performance variables. There are many factors that go into the production a successful racing tyre, and this is an area where Bridgestone is always looking at ways to make the next advances in motorsport.
