Top seven for Bridgestone at Fuji

The Bridgestone-shod Toyota Lexus SC430 pairing of Hiroaki Ishiura and Kazuya Oshima led from pole to flag to win the third round of the Super GT Championship at Fuji Speedway on Sunday 2 May. From free practice on Saturday to the race on Sunday the duo recorded the fastest lap times in every session.  Bridgestone-shod teams dominated the top seven positions.    

The Toyota Lexus SC430 crew was in good shape from Saturday free practice, and Oshima stormed to pole position in a convincing fashion. Juichi Wakisaka and Andre Lotterer(Toyota Lexus SC430/ Bridgestone) claimed the second  spot, whilst Daisuke Ito and Bjorn Wildheim (Toyota Lexus SC430/ Bridgestone) were third.   

Oshima made a great start on race day creating an instant gap from the rest of the field. When Ishiura took the wheel, he maintained the lead with consistent laps taking the team to an easy win.  Ralph Firman and Yuji Ide (Honda HSV/ Bridgestone) started from fifth on the grid, Firman battled hard moving into third position during the opening laps of the 88 lap race. However Ide made contact with another car and had to back off losing positions. Wakisaka and Lotterer finished second with Ito and Wirdheim finishing third.
