IRL News - Manning Secures A J Foyt Seat For 200819/12/2007

Darren Manning will race with AJ Foyt Racing for a second season in the IndyCar Series in 2008, the team have announced.

The British driver returned to the Firestone-shod series with the team in 2007, where he scored two top five finishes on his way to 13th in the final standings.

The 32-year-old believes that with a season's experience of working together, the results will be stronger next year though.

"Last year we came away from most weekends wishing we could start over because we had learned so much about the car," said Manning. "It was my first year working with AJ and driving the Dallara chassis with Honda power.

"We now have a baseline to work from for all of the tracks, which will help tremendously.

"There was a lot that had to be learned. We did learn, but the process affected our consistency. I look for all of that to change for the better in 2008."
