Firestone continues as Official Tire of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach

The Firestone brand will uphold a long-standing tradition on the streets of Southern California this spring by once again serving as the Official Tire of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach - the site of the legendary brand's official return to the American open wheel racing scene in 1991.

"2010 marks the 15th consecutive year that a Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) brand will serve as the official tire of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach," said Al Speyer, Executive Director, Firestone Racing.

Great Firestone exposure

"It feels great to return to this track each year and see the red Firestone name on the bridge between turns 9 and 10, and all alongside the track.  The Grand Prix Association of Long Beach always goes above and beyond in making sure we receive maximum exposure and value for our sponsorship dollars at this great race, which takes place in a key market - the Los Angeles area."

The 36th annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will take place April 16-18, 2010.  Each and every driver in the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights races will be equipped with Firestone Firehawk racing radial tires.

Long Beach happy to continue with Firestone relationship

"We are delighted to continue this key relationship with the Firestone brand and its dealers in the Southern California area," said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. "We look forward to showcasing their products on the streets of Long Beach for many years to come."
